RSDI Strengthens International Engagement on Indo-Pacific Security Challenges

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – 24 June 2026: The Rabdan Security and Defence Institute (RSDI (continues to strengthen its international engagement with leading researchers, defence experts, policymakers, and government officials to address evolving global and regional security challenges.

As part of these efforts, RSDI recently participated in the Conference on Crisis and Contingency in the Indo-Pacific Region, which brought together prominent experts from the United States, Japan, Australia, and India to examine the evolving security landscape across the Indo-Pacific. Discussions focused on strategic competition, emerging security challenges, crisis preparedness, and the importance of enhancing international cooperation to address future contingencies.

During the conference, Dr. Abdul Rahman Yaacob, Research Fellow at RSDI, chaired a high-level panel featuring distinguished experts from Australia, India, Japan, and the United States. The session explored the region's rapidly evolving security environment and highlighted the critical role of strategic dialogue, collaboration, and knowledge exchange in strengthening regional resilience.

On the sidelines of the conference, Dr. Abdul Rahman Yaacob also met with Major General Oktaheroe Ramsi, Dean of the Faculty of Defense Strategy at the Indonesia Defense University, to discuss opportunities for strengthening academic and research collaboration, fostering knowledge exchange, and advancing cooperation between defence institutions.

These engagements reflect RSDI's ongoing commitment to contributing to international dialogue, promoting evidence-based research, and building strategic partnerships that support regional and global security.
