Welcome to Rabdan Security and Defence Institute (RSDI).

At a time when the global security landscape is being reshaped by rapid technological change, geopolitical complexity, and emerging risks, the need for clear, credible, and regionally grounded insight has never been greater.

My vision is to strengthen the institute’s role as a catalyst for strategic thinking and innovation. We are not only observers of global developments, but also we are active contributors to the conversations that define them. Through interdisciplinary research activities and collaborations, forward-looking analysis, we aim to anticipate challenges, identify opportunities, and inform policy at the highest levels. RSDI is uniquely positioned within the UAE’s knowledge ecosystem, drawing on academic excellence and practical expertise across security, safety, defence and crisis management, as well as emerging technologies. Our commitment is to produce research that is not only intellectually rigorous, but also relevant, timely, and impactful.
