RSDI Sheds Light on Water and Food Security as Strategic Imperatives

Abu Dhabi, UAE - 11 December 2025: Rabdan Security and Defence Institute (RSDI), in collaboration with the Observer Research Foundation Middle East (ORF ME), has hosted a high-level panel discussion titled “Water and Food Security as Strategic Imperatives: Resilience, Risk, and Response in the MENA Region.”

The session brought together experts and practitioners to examine the deepening link between environmental scarcity and national security across the Middle East and North Africa. It explored how climate-driven stress on water and food systems can accelerate instability, displacement, and competition over critical resources - and emphasized the need for forward-looking policy, innovation, and preparedness to address these risks.

The discussion underscored that national resilience increasingly depends on integrated strategies that anticipate shocks, safeguard vital supply chains, and enhance cooperation across public and private sectors. The event reflects RSDI’s ongoing commitment to advancing dialogue, research, and awareness around emerging security challenges shaping the region’s future.
